Kuldakast snorted, he remembered him and his siblings gaped at the telling of the story, believing every single word uttered by their mother. Their wide minds imagining anything adults told them. So innocent and naive. Now he wasn't that.
The cyan Dream liked to come to this place, not because of it was a 'spiritual place' or crap like that. He just liked to ponder how did a such place happened. So far he had some theories like a powerful erosion of the rocks, or the lake was formed by a volcano. Nothing seemed to fit what he was seeing right now.
No, he didn't believe in spirits, demons, or whatever. What he believes is what he sees or what that had been confirmed as a fact.
His green eyes stared ahead into the horizon, the lake sparkled under the night sky of twinkling stars.
"Spirits... Hah."
His long legs carried him around the edge, and Kuldakast lowered his tall neck to the surface of the water, allowing him to drink.
It tasted pure, clean, and fresh.
The taste caused him to drink even more. The feeling of pure water dribbling down his throat gave him the shivers. He sat down before he settled down, lying restfully. The half moon shone on his intense-coloured fur, and his seemingly pupil-less eyes sparkled in the dark. Soft breeze rippled his wiry hairs as he started to ponder again.

The darkness hiding the flecks of black while the rust and tan color of her fur showed slightly only due to the moonlight. Still one could also tell her species by looking at her size. She was big, but not muscular like most of her kind. Her slender frame and long legs being made solely for speed, agility. But against some other wolf from a different species, she could over power them if she wanted.
Amondi sniffed the air lightly and gave a soft snort as she moved along. It was dry with the touch of winter. Like the ground below her paws. The grass was beginning to disappear so she must've have been getting closer to the crater that was here.
A spectacular sight greeted the fae's amber eyes. There before her lay a large lake. This must've been the crater now pond. It was amazing in size! But what about the whole spiritual thing? Was that true?
" Only one way to find out. "
The Dire fae trotted down to the pond's edge and looked into the dark waters. What secrets did they hold if any at all? Would she be hit with a vision as soon as she drank?
Amondi flicked her long pink tongue out to taste the cold liquid. A crisp and refreshing sensation hit her throat, but she abstained from more. Though the thought of the crater's mystical abilities still whispered through her head. She looked up into the night sky to see the half moon's glow, but another bright object caught her eyes.
Amber orbs looked upon a pair of glowing green spheres and realized the green spheres were eyes that belonged to a cyan colored creature. Amondi gave a low growl. Such a strange color, the only creatures that could even have that was a...Dream wolf.
" That's it! I never would have thought to meet one. " she spoke to herself with mild interest in her voice.
Deciding to look more into this Dream wolf she moved a little closer, but was careful to remain as silent as possible.

His green eyes stared at the moving water in the horizon. Dark clouds started to stretch across the night sky.
It's rain time, Kuldakast thought grimly. The night was too perfect, and the nature decided to spoil it.
A thin wisp of sound carried itself to him. It was too far away to know the exact words, but Kuldakast knew that it was a voice speaking something. He twisted his neck over his shoulder and saw a huge Dire.
Fantastic.
Someone really wanted to spoil his evening, by rain coming and a Dire coming. He looked at the water again. Sarcastically, the cyan male muttered; "Thank you very much. You've been a wonderful company..." before turning his head to the Dire again.
"That's it! I never would have thought to meet one."
Eh?
Her soft surprise shone in her eyes. She moved with a gentleness that Dires normally don't carry. The female stared at him as if he was something new. Her legs pushed her forwards, trying to be silent as possible.
He turned his muzzle forwards and scoffed.
She was exploring him. Watching at him, waiting for his move and wondering what will the Dream do. So Kuldakast decided to do something.
He stood up and turned to the direction where the Dire was. He stared her back with his seemingly pupil-less eyes. His lanky body swayed side to side as he moved his legs rhythmically. He was trying to come off as peaceful... This ought to put off her suspicion for a while.
When he was a few metres away from the Dire lady he stopped. His eyes blinked wide, before he darted.
Kuldakast's body was a torpedo as he moved forwards swiftly towards the female. He only stopped when he was just only a few centimetres away from her. She was quite smaller than him; her muzzle was at his neck level.
He gave one of his dazzling smile.
"So you have finally met a Dream."

So the Dream had noticed her. Well at least now she had his attention. The next thing would be to start up a conversation. This wolf could be a possible acquaintance, even friend. But that all depended on how the ball rolled.
The fae waited calmly for the wolf's next move. When he got up and started walking toward her she took note in his movements. Smooth and flowing, rhythmic. This made her think.
" Is he even a he? ", she thought.
His scent smelled of a male, so there was no real doubt. But in Amondi's species males were so easy to tell apart. Big and brutish. Muscles could be seen rippling under their rust colored coats. Of course she wasn't dealing with one of her own so that didn't apply to this situation apparently. This fact made her even more curious of the Dream.
Suddenly Amondi found herself ripped from her thoughts at the cyan Dream's speed! In a flash he went from a walk into a run! What was this Dream wolf up to?
His actions would have sent an average wolf to tense on instinct. Amondi was an exception though. Her years of training in her old pack taught of this. Many wolves did this as a bluff of sort. It meant nothing but to scare you.
When he stopped a few centimeters away from her Amondi cocked her head to the side. Something told her he wasn't trying to scare her.
Amondi observed the male. He was taller then her. Her muzzle met his furry neck. She looked at his structure. It was his legs. Long, longer then hers.
"So you have finally met a Dream."
" Mmhm. So you heard me early. " the Dire fae acknowledged.
She smiled softly at him. His eyes were something else. Then again so was his whole body. Mother nature could make strange creatures.
" Now I see why it has been a rarity for me to see a Dream. I have heard your kind are rather odd looking. You're dead give away. " she teased.

He couldn't help but to feel a bit downcast about the loss of her reaction. The Dream quickly shook it off mentally and turned his attention back to the Dire.
"Mmhm. So you heard me early."
"Shouldn't I?"
He tilted his head sideways and his large ears twitched once. She gave him a gentle smile, it was not a doubt that she thought him a strange creature. He allowed his light long tail 'float' into mid-air freely, and it swished around his back softly.
"Now I see why it has been a rarity for me to see a Dream. I have heard your kind are rather odd looking. You're dead give away."
He took a step backwards, as he didn't want to strain his neck by looking down at her. Then Kuldakast laughed.
"Odd-looking? Look at who's speaking." His emerald eyes shone with fake resentment. "You're all massive and buffy, and you say that I'm a dead give away?"
He smiled. Kuldakast's long legs were sweeping the ground again as he moved. He walked around until he was facing the side of the Dire.
"You're pretty, for a Dire." He wrinkled his muzzle with a slight surprise, "Anyway is there a reason that you're here? Surely not because of the 'spiritual' stuff?"
He was hoping to strike up a short chat before he went.

When he replied to her observation about him hearing her earlier, Amondi didn't reply back. Instead she took more of him in. If he was just the tip of the iceberg just think how many others looked so strange. From this very encounter, her first, she thought Dream wolves were truly something else.
" You've only met one! And he is the first of many! Don't draw too many conclusions yet. " her mind yelled at her.
Amondi shook her head to clear her mind and just in time to hear half of what the male was saying.
"You're all massive and buffy, and you say that I'm a dead give away?"
This caused Amondi to give a short laugh. She flicked her rust colored ears and watched as he moved to take a side view of her. Then what he said made her blink and look away abruptly.
"You're pretty, for a Dire."
" Why thank you. " she said softly after looking back at him.
Finally Amondi moved to the water's edge to take another drink. All interest in this place and it's " spiritual " qualities had died away. Until her company brought it up. His question made her stare out at the water.
" Well. I had come to see if it was true. However I'm not seeing any proof. But that is only half of the reason. I was wondering. I'm currently in search of a pack to be apart of. " her tone seemed to sadden when she mentioned the last part.
It had been awhile sense Amondi had been in a pack. During her time alone she began to crave companionship. Not just from other species, but from her own kind.

His wiry furs rippled in the light breeze like the water of the 'lake'. He shivered a bit, the winds were sent by north, carrying its frost breath to here. For countless times, Kuldakast again cursed his thin hairs.
The cyan ears pricked up as the Dire laughed at his remark. He didn't intend to make the remark funny or whatsoever. He was just stating what he had seen.
If wolves could blush, this female would, just after Kuldakast made a comment of her prettiness.
She looked away from him, and he was confused. It was as if she was embarrassed by what he said. Again he was just pointing out the truth; most Dires he had seen were... not gentle on eyes, to put it lightly. Obviously he wasn't used being around girls.
After some while she spoke; "Why thank you."
He nodded at her gratitude.
Kuldakast watched the missus made her way to the edge to drink the crater's pure water. He waited for the wolf to finish drinking and answer his question. As she rose from the drinking, she said that she did come here to look for spirits or whatsoever. But she also seek for a pack. He noted that there was sadness in her tone when she mentioned pack.
The bright Dream hesitated before replying.
"...Let me ask you; really do you believe in spirits? That they reside here, in the lake or around the shores?" He turned his gaze from the face of the Dire girl to the watery horizon. "Most wolves do. And I don't."
He twitched his ears quickly, trying to divert the subject, "I noted there was sadness in your words when you spoke of pack..."
Kuldakast left the sentence ending unfinished, as all he wanted to say was there. He shifted, feeling uncomfortably as he try to pry the reason of the missus's miserableness.
Asking what was wrong was not his nature.
